I’ve spent over 25 years in the IT field and have always had a passion for travel. Recently, I took the plunge into becoming a travel advisor and discovered my love for planning unforgettable trips for friends and family.
The name Disconnect Vacations was born from my tech-heavy past after years of being glued to a screen, answering emails at all hours, and always being just a ping away. I realized how amazing it feels to actually unplug and disconnect. It’s all about trading notifications for ocean views from a cruise ship balcony and trading Wi-Fi signals for real connections with family and friends. If you asked my family, they would tell you they like Cruise Rick more than work Rick as I am a different person on the sea!
I don’t just book trips, I listen to what my clients are saying, research, and plan the trips that will check off all the boxes. Leveraging tools provided by Cruise Brothers and the knowledge and experience that comes with a large host agency, I can tailor trips and excursions for my clients that major cruise lines will not do.
I am a graduate of the Disney College of Knowledge and hold Master’s-level certifications with Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, MSC, and Diamond Level Graduate with Carnival. Additionally, I’ve achieved Commodore status with Princess, Gold with Holland America, and graduated from the Celebrity Cruise Line program.

My wife, Nicole, is currently completing extensive training and certifications with major cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line to become our lead cruise specialist.
