I’ve lived in Boston my whole life and regularly visit many of the places featured in this guide. As an avid cruiser and independent agent with Cruise Brothers, I’m a qualified cruise specialist for Norwegian Cruise Line, having earned my NCLU Masters certification through their training academy. This route is one I know well both from the Boston side and from sailing it multiple times.
Cruising from Boston to Bermuda
Cruising from Boston to Bermuda is a relaxed, smooth way to start a vacation. You don’t need a long airport transfer or complicated logistics. Everything begins right at Flynn Cruiseport Boston, located in the Seaport district. You’ll be close to the waterfront, the airport, and several neighborhoods that are easy to explore on foot.
One of the best parts of this route is the simplicity. You leave from one city and spend multiple days in Bermuda, not everyone enjoys going from port to port. If you like the idea of settling in, slowing down, and getting to know a place, this itinerary fits nicely. Norwegian Cruise Line offers a seasonal route here, and the rhythm feels natural. Sail south, watch the coastline fall away, and then enjoy warm air, clear water, and time to explore the island at your own pace.
If you are new to cruise vacations, the relaxed pace of this journey makes it a comfortable starting point. You can learn more about getting started with the helpful First-Time Cruisers guide located HERE.

Starting in 2026, the Norwegian Breakaway is scheduled to be the primary ship cruising from the Boston cruise terminal to Bermuda, with seven-day voyages running April through November most seasons. Why This Works For Boston Travelers
The Flynn Cruiseport’s proximity to Boston’s airport and Seaport district makes embarkation day stress-free, while the itinerary focuses on extended stays in Bermuda rather than rushed port hopping, giving you genuine time to explore beaches and coastal areas at your leisure. The Breakaway offers enough dining, entertainment, and activity options to keep sea days relaxed and flexible for everyone in your group.
Traveler Profiles It Fits Best
This cruise works particularly well for families who appreciate straightforward logistics and the freedom to hop on and off the ship during extended port stays. Couples seeking warm water, secluded coves, and leisurely evenings on deck will find the pace perfectly suited to a romantic getaway. It’s also ideal for small groups who prefer to split up during the day to pursue different interests, then reconnect over dinner and evening entertainment without anyone feeling rushed or left behind.
Things You Should Note
Current schedules show the Breakaway operating from Boston through at least 2027 with regular Bermuda sailings, offering both 7-night itineraries and occasional 5-night options. Since year-to-year details can change, it’s worth confirming your specific sailing’s timing and port sequence before finalizing your booking.
Common Variations You May See
Some 7-night departures include a stop in Halifax alongside Bermuda, adding a subtle New England flavor without overcomplicating the itinerary. Early in the season, you might also find 5-night Boston-to-Bermuda sailings on the Breakaway, which work well if you’re looking for a quick escape without committing to a full week.

Boston’s Famous North End
I am a sucker for good Italian food and there is no place better than the North End to get it. There are SO many restaurants to choose from and there is a place to sit and dine for everyone. Whether you are looking for upscale or casual the North End has it all. You can also join in on the Great Cannoli Debate of who’s better Mikes Pastry or Modern Bakery.
My Picks
- Small Mom and Pop Feel: Dino’s Cafe – 141 Salem St, Boston, MA 02113
- Classic: Cantina Italiana Since 1931 – 346 Hanover St., Boston, MA 02113
- Fine Dining: Tresca-North End – 233 Hanover St, Boston, MA 02113
Boston’s Backbay Neighborhood
Boston’s Back Bay is one of the city’s most elegant neighborhoods, famous for its brownstone lined, tree-shaded streets. This entire area was once literally a tidal bay that was filled in during the mid-1800s, transforming marshy flats into what’s now one of America’s most expensive and architecturally stunning residential districts. Here you can shop on world famous Newbury Street, visit Copley Square and Trinity Church while on the way to Boston Public Library.
America’s Most Beloved Ballpark
As you are out exploring the city a must is a visit to Fenway Park, America’s oldest and most beloved ballpark. Right outside of Kenmore Square and built in 1912 Fenway is the home of the Boston Red Sox. Daily tours are available and subject to change depending on game schedule, but you can visit the park, go inside the famous green monster and take in some history.
You can also save some cash if you want to see Backbay and Fenway together. These are easily walkable between the two so no need to Uber/Taxi. It is a nice walk on a nice day as well.
Some Practical Tips
- Utilize the MBTA Public Transportation System. Boston is a bustling city and traffic can become heavy at times. Using the T is a cost effective and efficient way to see the city.
- Check your local library or resources before coming into the city. You can often find free passes to things like the New England Aquarium
- Dress for the weather. Check the weather before hitting the streets for the day. Although it maybe sunny and 70 in the morning it can change real quick. Depending on your departure date a light hoodie may be needed.
- Plan your beach and transportation for Bermuda early. If you don’t see a ship excursion you like, I can book off-ship excursions through my agency’s partnerships with Shore Excursions Group and Viator. I can easily find you something.
