Cruising Is Boring: Debunking Myths About Modern Cruises

Cruising is for old people us a thing of the past.

Cruising is boring! Cruising is for old people! These are a few things I have heard from people over the years. Well if cruising is truly for old people than you can count me in as old. The days are long gone of stuffy cruises for the rich, dinner in tuxedos and super over the top theatre shows.

Granted all these still do exist on certain cruise lines. Which is why finding your cruise vibe is a must. What is a cruise vibe you may ask. Simply put, your cruise vibe is a simple test that can tell you which cruise ship is for you. This is important as cruise lines like [ccl_cruise] will not be a good fit for someone who hates kids. Or Virgin Voyages might not be a good fit for someone who likes buffets.

Anyway I am getting off topic. Cruising is for old people is just a mind set. Those days are long gone and you need to try again if your experiences those feelings in the past.

Cruising is for Old People

It’s True

Cruises are for old people. To sit around and read books all day. There is nothing to do while you are on the open water and navigating from one port to the next. I mean, surely cruise lines like Royal Caribbean Cruise Line just cater to old people. They want them sitting in their balcony room or the pool deck doing nothing. Cruise ships do not have anything fun like Waterslides, Swings or a Surf Pool. Carnival Cruise Line would never have a rollercoaster. I mean why would they do that.

My Parents are Old

That is why they cruise. It’s not like we can do anything fun together as a family right. Like laser tag, arcades or something like Go-karts! That would be awesome to have on a cruise ship. Too bad {ncl_cruise] did not think of something fun like that.

Cruises are for old People

Old people do not know how to drink, or stay out late and have a good time. Why would a cruise ship have a nightclub? Old people are in bed at like 8pm right? Where would they even go or what would they even do? They do not know how to use technology!

Cruiseing is boring when your not having a blast in the casino

Do We Tell Them?

Do we fill people in to the fun and excitement you can have on a cruise? Or should we keep this a well guarded secret, like the ways of The Freemasons. Even if you hate cruising, you have to admit deep down inside that these floating cities are a marvel! Most major cities are jealous at the amount of activities and fun a cruise ship offers. Even more jealous when you have ships like MSC Cruise Line World of America and it’s gorgeous decor and layout.

Cruising is for Everyone. Old and Young.

Cruises are not just for the elderly any more. Whether you are a seasoned traveler or a young gun looking for adventure, there is something for everyone on board a cruise ship. Today, cruising is a exciting way to travel that has something for everyone.

Activities for All Age Groups

Thrills and Adventures for the Young Cruise ships are packed with adrenaline-pumping activities. From rock climbing walls and zip lines to surf simulators and water parks, there’s no shortage of excitement. Young travelers can enjoy sports courts, video game arcades, and even laser tag arenas. For those who love to explore, shore excursions offer everything from snorkeling and scuba diving to hiking and zip-lining through lush landscapes.

Relaxation and Leisure for the Young-at-Heart For those who prefer a more laid-back experience, cruises offer plenty of options. Enjoy a leisurely swim in the pool, unwind in the spa with a massage, or take a yoga class with a view of the ocean. Onboard libraries, art galleries, and quiet lounges provide the perfect spots to relax and recharge. And let’s not forget the joy of simply sitting on the deck, watching the waves and soaking up the sun.

Entertainment and Exploration

Cruise ships are home to world-class entertainment. Broadway-style shows, live music performances, and comedy acts ensure there’s never a dull moment.. You can also throw on your dancing shoes and hit up the nightclub or one of the many theme parties the director will have planned out. Which you can find out ahead of time and be prepared for whatever decor/costume you may need. These options are perfect for both the older and younger crowd. Or for the old folks like myself, where at times I think I am much younger than I really am.

Cruises offer a variety of interactive experiences. For example when we were on the Carnival Cruise Line Mardi Gras this past August we were able to take part in a pizza making class, a brewery tour and even take home a trophy from our ass kicking in music trivia. Speaking of trivia the ships also held a slew of trivia events that were designed to allow for people of all ages to participate. They are also held in numerous parts of the ships so kids of all ages can enjoy.

Family Friendly

Cruises are perfect for family vacations. With kids’ clubs, teen lounges, and adult-only areas, everyone can find their own space while still enjoying time together. Family-friendly activities like movie nights, scavenger hunts, and poolside games ensure that there’s fun for all generations.

Some of my favorite family memories are of cruising with the whole family. My grandparents really enjoyed cruising, they passed that down to us all. It allowed for them to travel with the family but also not feel like a burden if we all decided to get off the ship and go on a excursion or walk around. They had the comfort of staying on the ship and have all they needed around them while we were gone.

Social Connections Cruises foster a sense of community. Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or with family, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to meet new people. Shared dining experiences, group excursions, and onboard events create a welcoming environment where friendships can blossom. My daughter still talks to her cruise friends she has made over the years, and the best thing is they are from all over the country and such a diverse, well behaved group of kids.

In Conclusion

Cruising truly is one vacation that is for everyone. With such a wide range of entertainment, activities, and culinary options it is a perfect choice for all ages. You can choose whether you wan to be up on the top deck on a roller coaster or by the pool with a drink in your hand. The options are endless and completely up to you. One thing I did not really get into is the excursions.

NO! This whole thing was a complete satire post. Cruising used to be for retiree’s and old folks. With todays Mega Ships and Nightlife inspired itineraries there is a cruise line now for everyone.

Each cruise line has it’s own personality. So you need to work with a trusted travel advisor who will work with you and get you booked on a cruise that has what you are looking for and avoid what you do not want.

Does Princess Cruise Line have kids?

Yes. Princess Cruises allow children however you will not usually see the amount of children like you would on a Carnival Cruise Line or Royal. If the cruise line is not specified as “Adults Only” there will be children.
