Is an Alaska Cruise a Must-Do Bucket List Trip?

Fog rolling over Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska

Is a Alaska cruise really a bucket list trip? Is it really a trip that you should take if you enjoy cruising and enjoy seeing new things? The answer is yes! Alaska is the last frontier. There is so much to see and do and taking a cruise is a great way to check off a few of those bucket list items.

Why Princess Cruise Line?

Princess Cruise Line line would be the number 1 cruise line I would recommend for clients when thinking of cruising Alaska. They are the leader when it comes to Alaska. Holland America would be my next in line behind Princess. If you viewed the Alaska page, you already have the reasons why. Not only do they offer the best in class cruise tours, the most passes into Glacier Bay. more importantly, client feedback always points to the experience and value of Princess cruises.

Princess also has a way of making everything feel special for their clients. For example, I recently sent a client on a Alaskan cruise on the Royal Princess. They were celebrating a one year of marriage Anniversary and also a birthday. Once they boarded, the shop manager had called them to the shops and presented them with a bottle of bubbly as a celebratory gift. All because I had their booking flagged for a Anniversary and birthday.

It’s the little things. Customer service like this just elevates the experience and makes my clients enjoy their vacations even more. Partnering with a cruise line like Princess and working with a travel advisor that wants to make their clients 100% happy, like me, means your Alaskan cruise is full of special and thoughtful experiences.

What clients say about Alaska cruises

Clients tell me how amazing the trip is but no matter how much you try to prepare yourself for what you are going to see, you are floored when you are there in person. The sheer size of things, the beauty and the wildlife are just breathtaking. They also enjoy the number of activities that Princess offers them from immersed excursions and also easy laid back excursions in some ports. they have a range of offerings that will fit anyone’s activity level.

“Get a balcony!” that is another piece of feedback I heard. When booking a balcony, and entering Glacier Bay you literally can sit on your balcony as the ship enters the bay and provides you with a 360 degree view as the Captain rotates the ship. No need to rush to the top decks and jockey for position at the rail.

I never cruised Alaska and I’m overwhelmed?

No problem. Not only can I help you navigate the booking process, I can also help you plan out your excursions as well. From planning a Yukon Railway Tour or giving you a free walking tour, there is something for everyone. Not all your excursions need to cost money and not all of them need to be booked through the cruise line. As a agent with Cruise Brothers we have access to hundreds of shore excursions using reputable 3rd party vendors like Viator and Shore Excursions Group which offer one of kind experiences like Salmon Bakes, Panning for Gold, Helicopter Tours and even scenic railways.

Please note the links to Viator and SEG are my private links and if you book I will make a commision off each sale.

If you are feeling more adventurous, Princess offers one of a kind Alaska Tour Packages. Did you know that Princess Cruises owns their own lodges in Alaska? They actually own 5 lodges which offer passengers the ability to pre or post explore before their actual cruise. Each lodge has their own specialty and you can add a number of nights to your Alaska cruise Pre and Post to see more of everything from Denali National Park to Princess’s exclusive direct to the wilderness railway service.

Do other cruise lines visit Alaska?

Of course! Cruise lines like Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Holland America and more all cruise Alaska. Each with their own style of cruising. Not sure which cruise line is right fo ryou? Take my free cruise vibe calculator. Or want ot browse all active cruises scheduled for Alaska? Visit my Cruise Brothers Personalized Booking Link which allows you to search all major cruise lines and destinations.

I will work with you to find the proper fit. Remember not all cruise lines are created equally. Some of these cruise lines will not have the access that Princess has, or they will not be docking in locations that make it easy to navigate. When planning your bucked list trip to Alaska this all matters. You only have so many hours in port so you need to maximize it.

Not sure what to do with excursions, walking, fishing, etc. I can help you with that. We can build out custom itineraries and things to see and do when you are in Alaska. Whatever you can think of we can help.
